I am a proud mother of two beautiful young children. My oldest child was born as a non-stop chatter box. My younger child was diagnosed with Selective Mutism. We are very lucky that we came to know of this at a very young age. I was determined to get her alright and was not willing for her live a muted life. I did my own research, got her the best of the treatment available and with no medicines today she is able to speak to a lot more people and in different environments. I have learnt the best person to treat your child is you as yourself as parent as you spend most of the day with the child and understand the child the best in her day-to-day life. This in no way means that you do not get your child treated with a therapist/ psychologist. I am here just to share my knowledge, practical experiences, and techniques I used to help my child. It is sad that SM is not widely understood by many people even though at least 1% of the population suffers from it. There are so many children who go through this unaware and with no help. I just want to reach out to as many people as possible to spread the knowledge, awareness and help them by sharing my experiences as a mother. with a therapist/ psychologist.
